2018 Discovery View Hill is a drive-up 2 point summit SW of Sequim.  While visiting family in the area, I was looking for a quick activation option in 2018.  Since 2018, more of the summit has been logged and the views were amazing from the south side.  You are able to see buildings from downtown Seattle, and have great radio line-of-sight to the Puget Sound and Canada.

Directions:  Driving on Hwy 101, you will get to Blyn and the Jamestown S'Kallam Tribe located on South end of Sequim bay.  From Hwy 101, turn onto Chicken Coup Road.  After 0.2 miles, veer right onto Howard Heights Rd.  Stay on Howard Heights Rd for 1.6 miles, and then go straight (instead of following the road to the right).  The road will get rougher at this point, and in 0.2 miles stay right at the Y.  After the Y, continue on this road for 1 mile.  A new logging road turns right at this point, but stay left and keep going for .2 more miles.  You can park at this point along road, and bushwhack a short distance to the summit...or drive 0.1 more mile to end of road where this is an open area and viewpoint within the activation area.  Ater turning from Highway 101, it is a total of 3.2 miles to the summit.

Bushwhacking to the summit is approx 50 feet from the road, or there is an open area at the end of road.  Both areas have trees for supporting antenna masts.  I was able to spot via phone app (using AT&T).

If driving a long distance, 2018 Discovery View Hill is likely not your first option in the North Olympic region (ex. Hurricane Hill, Blue Mountain, etc are likely first).  I enjoyed this summit more the second time, and it's definitely a great 2 point option near Sequim.
