Illahee Rock Lookout is a relatively easy hike, 1.9 miles and 590 ft. elevation gain, with good road access from the North Umpqua River (Highway 138). The trail and its access are well described on several web pages and William Sullivan's book “100 Hikes in Southern Oregon”, so I won't repeat that here.
The summit has two lookouts on it and a helipad. There was a volunteer working on the lookouts while we were there so I set up at the end of the short ridge out of his way. There are trees and the lookouts there (assuming no worker bee) to assist with antennas. I put up a vertical and made a few 20M-SSB contacts and a couple of 2M-FM contacts to folks in Eugene.
