SOTA Activities
I have been activating SOTA summits since August 2011. Right now, I primarily use either my Icom IC-7000 or Yaesu FT-817 for activations, depending on whether I'm going heavyweight or light. I tend to set up a buddipole "versatee vertical" for bands 20m and up using one of their military shock-corded whips, antenna arms, and a mini coil.
I primarily activate in the northern coastal and cascade regions of Oregon, but am always looking for opportunities in other areas.
